Near, the weekend is. Survive, you will.
The Force is strong with Glasgow police; the BBC reads midichlorians here.
Rough day...
...which eased into an okay--even relaxed--evening doing homework and watching Ghost Hunters instead of going to work (canceled due to weather).
So, tonight, The Atlantic Paranormal Society is what makes me happy.

Searching for ghosts has got to be one of the best jobs ever--that, and being one of the MythBusters guys. (I love the Discovery Channel so much.)

Little late on this one.
Yesterday was sort of insane (by sort of, I mean completely). It is that time of the semester where everything converges, and I honestly half-way wonder if I really want to come back next year and do this all over again. Things that make me happy were a little hard to find: even the old standby, a good dinner, was impossible. (I'll be very happy to finally get off campus in the fall and cook my own meals. Cooking is theraputic, for me.)
What did make me at least relax, and realize that I would make it to summer, that everything would be okay, even though he's in Saint Louis: my gentleman caller A. He's been calling for about two years now, and knows the drill on stressed-out girlfriends. Making her laugh is a crucial step. On my phone, there's a picture of him in a dress, fuzzy chest and all. Oh boy. There's one that's not for the Internet. Private collection, anyone?...or else blackmail material.

Both a rainy day and a Monday, but all right at that.
Today, two things that make me happy:

The view from my window, of a gorgeously rainy day. I had an interview at 9:00 a.m., when it was really pouring: my nice tan pants were held up around my ankles with paperclips, heels were in the bag, flip-flips on my feet...which did make for cold toes. All went well, though, and it's been a good day for writing in-between classes.
As for the second thing that makes me happy...

CHINESE FOOD
(I promise to replace the Google Image Search pic with one of my own later. Promise.)

*fangirl*
Eeeee. I hadn't seen it before today; I AM SO EXCITED (and also a huge dork). But it makes me happy, so it's going on the blog!

Happy, but tired.
Worked all day at an in-town soccer tournament, so I'm pretty much beat. Gotta get up and do it again in the morning, though, so I'll be going to bed pretty soon. This isn't a picture of my game, or my tournament, or even anyone I know, but it gets the point across well.
I love my second job. As a referee, I'm basically paid to have a hobby--sometimes a very difficult, cold, and wet one, when parents are screaming and a game we'd all rather leave behind us goes into a second overtime. Other times, it's a beautiful day outside, there's a breeze in the air, the kids are smiling, and it feels great to be alive. Today was one of those days.
The rationale...
A friend just shared this site with the world. I like it. A little music, a little photography, a few quotes and stories and pieces of commentary "adding up" to a girl. Definitely a site I'll be checking, now that I'm beginning to see the addictive qualities of blogs--even well enough to start my own.
I don't feel like I write enough to have a writer's blog, or that I'm quite qualified enough to have a teacher's blog. But I do find little shreds of beauty throughout the day. I like the idea of having a place to store them, and to share them. It could be for me only, close friends, or anyone else who needs that little dose of joy during her (or his) day.
One post, per day, of at least one something that makes me stop and smile.
We'll see where it goes.
